Marissa is from Naperville, IL. She graduated from Lawrence University in June 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts in mathematics and Spanish. At Lawrence, Marissa was a 1-meter and 3-meter springboard diver as well as an executive board member for the school's Hispanic awareness group, VIVA. She is a first year graduate student at NIU pursuing a Master's degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering. At NIU, Marissa is the Educational Director for IIE as well as an active participant in SWE.
