Meeting Minutes

IIE General Meeting

October 13, 2008,   EB 211 at 5:00 pm 

Main event of the meeting was a guest speaker Joel Brock.Some background information:

·        Education

     o       BS in IE – NIU 2000

  o       IIE president

  o       MS IE – NIU 2009

·        UPS  (2000 – 2005)

  o       IE 4 rotations

  o       Involved in special projects which included new facility planning

  o       Operations Supervisor

·        Watkins Motor Lines (2005 – 2008)

  o       IE Regional

  o       Operations Manager

·        Sears Holdings (2008 – Current)

  o       Senior IE

  o       Store Operations  

   The General Meeting was very successful, people came to listen to the guest speaker and enjoy the food provided by the club.  Joel’s recommendation:“Try to go to a job interview every six months, this will help you keep your skills sharp, and also you will be able to see what employers are looking for.”
